Cape Cod Veterans Receives $10,000 Community Impact Award from Homes for Heroes Foundation
The Homes for Heroes Foundation awarded Cape Cod Veterans with its third annual $10,000 Community Impact Award. The grant check presentation was conducted live during a community meeting by Homes for Heroes Foundation Director, Jay Flynn, and Homes for Heroes Real Estate Specialist, Brien Hines.
Travis Manion Foundation Receives $5,000 Grant from Homes for Heroes Foundation
The Homes for Heroes Foundation awarded the Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) a $5,000 grant to help support their specific programs: character development, leadership expeditions, and events. 1st Lt. Travis Manion was an experienced Iraq war veteran from the 1st Recon Battalion. He was fatally wounded by an enemy sniper while aiding and drawing fire away from wounded teammates, allowing all members of his patrol to escape and survive. The Travis Manion Foundation was established to continue his legacy, inspiring people to make an impact by serving others.
National Veterans Homeless Support Receives $5,000 Grant from Homes for Heroes Foundation
The Homes for Heroes Foundation awarded the National Veterans Homeless Support (NVHS) a $5,000 grant to help support three of their specific programs: Search and Rescue Program, Post-Traumatic Stress Awareness Program, and their Transitional Housing Program.
Chester County Hero Fund Receives $5,000 Grant from Homes for Heroes Foundation
The Homes for Heroes Foundation awarded Chester County Hero Fund a $5,000 grant to help the organization provide a $5,000 death benefit to our heroes, up to $10,000 for disability assistance, housing assistance for renovations, or hotel expenses so that a family can be close to the injured first responder if being treated at a medical facility a distance from their home.

Veterans Path to Hope Receives $5,000 Grant from Homes for Heroes Foundation
The Homes for Heroes Foundation awarded the Veterans Path to Hope a $5,000 grant to offer military veterans and service members housing assistance through their Veterans Community Action Team. This program offers military members in need a place to stay and they deliver an entire household of furniture, two weeks of food, and all of the other items one would need to feel at home.
National Center for Healthy Veterans Receives $150,000 Grant Pledge from the Homes for Heroes Foundation
The Homes for Heroes Foundation awarded its second legacy grant to the National Center for Healthy Veterans (NCHV) with a pledge of $150,000 to be awarded in three payments over three years from 2024 – 2026. These funds will help to support the transformative programs offered by NCHV at Valor Farm in Altavista, VA, and in the development of what they refer to as, “Village II”.
Semper Fi & America’s Fund Receives $5,000 Grant
The Semper Fi & American’s Fund was established in 2003 by military spouses who volunteered to provide bedside support to wounded and injured military service members. They are a nationwide nonprofit who has provided immediate financial assistance and lifelong support to over 32,000 critically wounded, ill, and injured service members, veterans, and their families. The Homes for Heroes Foundation grant will be used to help fund these Semper Fi & America’s Fund programs and services.
Blue Star Families Receives $25,000 Grant from Homes for Heroes Foundation
Founded in 2009 by military spouses with military families in mind, Blue Star Families empower families to thrive by connecting them with their civilian neighbors; including both people and organizations, to create strong, vibrant communities of mutual support. Frequent moves and deployments make it challenging for military families to establish community roots. Blue Star Families is helping military families overcome these challenges. As of today, since 2009, the benefits distributed by Blue Star Families exceeds $158 million provided for military families, and that includes support for over 1.5 million family members served annually.
National Fallen Firefighters Foundation Receives $25,000 Grant
The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation mission is to honor America’s fallen fire heroes. The do this through many programs that provide support for the fallen’s families, colleagues, and organizations. They also work diligently to reduce the number of preventable firefighter deaths and injuries. As part of the Homes for Heroes Circle of Giving, the Homes for Heroes Foundation selected the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation to receive a $25,000 grant to provide support for the families of fallen firefighters through their scholarship program.
The Kaufman Fund Receives $10,000 Grant to Aid Veterans
The Kaufman Fund is committed to aiding Veterans with life’s basic necessities through food, shelter, clothing, medical care and more. The fund was founded in 1990 in memory of Ralph Kaufman by his younger brother, Wayne Kaufman. The organization offers several referral programs for legal, dental, mental health and chiropractic services; plus four of their own programs including Food for Vets, Trees for Vets, Tax Prep for Vets and the Artist First for Vets.
Pendergast Foundation Receives $10,000 Grant
The Pendergast Elementary Community Foundation is located in Phoenix, AZ and is committed to inspire, promote and support extracurricular programs, charitable health and wellness services, financial assistance and scholarship programs for students and teachers. The foundation has contributed over $200,000 in scholarships to aspiring teachers at the iTeachAZ program at ASU Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College.
United Veterans Council of Monterey County Receives $10,000 Grant
Since 1989, the United Veterans Council of Monterey County has been working to promote the common good and welfare of all Veterans, their dependents, widows and orphans. They provide resources to Veterans who are struggling; who are in need of a little assistance with housing, repairs, food, clothing and utilities. Homes for Heroes, in conjunction with their local real estate specialist, has awarded the United Veterans Council of Monterey County a hero grant through the Homes for Heroes Foundation to help support their efforts with local Veterans and their families.
Clackamas County Peace Officers Benevolent Foundation Receives $10,000 Grant
The Clackamas County Peace Officers Benevolent Foundation is dedicated to the Clackamas County law enforcement community by providing encouragement, information, companionship, support, assistance and aid to help them and their families during times of personal or family crises; especially when injured or killed in the line of duty. They also coordinate acts of charity and good will in the community, educate the public about the profession of law enforcement and general community safety, and they also support programs that help children and youth who are in need, or at risk.
